店頭に並ぶ

今日紹介するのは、先日プロの翻訳者さんの英訳を見ていた時に気づいたものです。 

For its first installment, Amairo Shop opened for a limited time in November 2020. Food products that would otherwise have been destroyed and surplus vegetables from family gardens lined the shop windows. 

（2020年11月に期間限定でオープンした第一弾では、廃棄されてしまう食品や家庭菜園で採れすぎた野菜などが店頭に並びました。) 

そのまんまですが “line the shop window” ですね。 

この表現がいいなと思った理由は英検ライティングでも使えるかなと思ったからです。 

将来多くの人々が環境の配慮した商品or健康志向の食べ物を購入すると思いますか？ 

このようなトピックって結構出てくると思います。 

その際に、 以下のように書き換えれたらカッコいいなと思います。 

“these days, many products that are good for the environment are sold at Japanese shops.” 

↓

 “these days, many products that are good for the environment line the shop window”  

“products that are good for the environment” を “environmentally friendly products” と言い換えても良いですね。
