The enjoyment of life is as fleeting as a lightning flash, as transient as morning dew, and resembles a dream or an illusion. Even within a dream, there may be a universe and a history for the inhabitants of that dream, but once the dream ends, everything disappears. No matter how much evidence of your existence is left behind within the dream, what meaning does it hold once you awaken from the dream? Likewise, in life, no matter what traces are left behind, as death approaches, one can no longer sense any meaning. And when life comes to an end, all the evidence of one's existence fades away like a dream. It truly resembles being intoxicated by life and then perishing like a dream. In such a dream-like life, what should one do to find true meaning in living? #Buddhism #life
