翻訳をする際の難点の一つとして、cultural specific item(CSI)の問題があります。これは特定の文化でしか出てこない/理解されない言葉や概念を表します。現代では特にネットミームが当てはまるのではないかと考えます。流しそうめんが良い例です。そのまま翻訳しても意味は伝わらないのに加え、簡単に等価を満たせる日本のミームを探すのも難しいものです。最近、Xでsenukin69というかたの漫画を見つけました。
この女の子が話している内容としては
1. 彼氏が元気なさそう
2. いつもみたいな笑顔が見たい
3. おなかがすいたのでご飯を作ってほしい
となるのですが、台詞はすべてbrainrot(頭のおかしな言い回し)になっているわけです。この使われている言葉一つ一つが厄介で、例を挙げると
Rizz- 魅力のある/カリスマ的なオーラ
Skibidi (toilet)- 英語圏で流行っているトイレから頭が生えた仮想生物
Fanum tax- 例を挙げるとフライドポテトを横取りするような、食べ物を税金と見立てたい言葉
などがあります。ほとんど文脈としておかしい言葉やほぼ意味のない言葉を連呼しています。日本の方にもわかるように翻訳してみたいのですが、言葉一つ一つを説明した場合フットノートだらけになり、日本のミームに置き換えようとしても簡単に探せるものでもなけらば、探せても成り立ちと文化が違うためイコールと言っていいのか怪しいです。翻訳はほぼ不可能に近いと思ったのですが、何かアイデアがあればぜひ助言をいただきたいです。

One of the difficult parts of translation is dealing with cultural specific items (CSI); an item that mainly shows up in certain cultures. Nagashi
somen (an activity sliding down a somen noodle and trying to catch it with chopsticks at the bottom) is one example. In our day and age, I
think internet memes are prevalent. It is difficult to find Japanese
memes that are somewhat equal to the source text's memes when
translating. Recently, I found a comic on X by senukin69 called
brainrot girlfriend.
What this girl is trying to say is this:
1. the boyfriend doesn't look happy
2. wants to see his smile
3. she is hungry and wants him to cook something for her
Each line spoken by her feels brain dead (thus brainrot). Each word
said by her is difficult to understand. Some examples are
Rizz- charismatic aura
Skibidi toilet- a fictional character with a face sticking out of a toilet
Fanum tax- stealing food from a friend (ex. french fries)
Most of the words used have nothing to do with the statement or even have no meaning at all. I wanted to translate this into Japanese, but if I were to leave the memes, there have to be tons of footnotes to
explain the joke. On the other hand, if I tried replacing memes with the Japanese equivalent, it is hard to find, and can't really say it is an
equivalent since how memes form and get accepted. I need someone's wisdom in translating this art.
