一気に気温が下がりましたね、、、。我が家では早くも暖房が入りました。
体調不良でご機嫌斜めな息子はmewlingというよりは寧ろshriekingを繰り返しています笑
先日インターナショナルスクールのアメリカ人英語教師と「幼児と英語教育」に関して話し合う機会がありました。彼女は1歳児ともレッスンを行った経験があり、有意義な議論になりました。
1歳児には例えば英単語を読み上げて、その絵が描かれたカードを選ばせるそうです。1歳児も反応します。よって、レッスンは成立となるそうです。
彼女曰く、英語(第二言語)学習は早く始めれば早く始める程、学習者は母国語との差異を感じなくなり、発音も綺麗になるそうです。しかし、3歳児から始めてもさほど大きな違いは無いだろうとのことです。
個人的には1週間に数時間英語に触れる事が1〜3歳児の学習者の英語力に大きな影響をもたらすとは思いません。事実、私自身は22歳から本格的に英語と向き合い、英語が母国語の方とのコミュニケーションに全く問題が無い人間です。しかし、母曰く、私は１歳に成った時点で既に自然に会話をし、歌も歌えたため、周りが気味悪がっていたそうです笑
また、私は昔から社交性と集中力も比較的に高いタイプです。よって、私は特異なケースだったのでしょうか、、、。
引き続き考えてみたいと思います :)

There are two options.
The first option is performances of Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor, which will be performed daily by the Sydney Symphonic Orchestra from 7 to 10 June.
The conductor for the performances will be Japan’s very own Masaaki Suzuki.
YN:
Those performances sound very good.
We have seen Suzuki-sensei perform before and he is very talented both as a conductor and musician.
You mentioned another option.
What is that, please?
JD:
The other option is on 11 June only and it is also in the Concert Hall of the Opera House.
It is a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 by Sydney Philharmonic Choirs.
YN:
That also sounds very interesting.
Can you please provide us with concert times and ticket prices.

Three of the Mozart Great Mass in C Minor performances, on 7, 9 and 10 June, will be from 8 p.m.
The performance on Thursday, 8 June, will be at 1.30 p.m.
The Mahler performance will be at 5 p.m. on Sunday, 11 June.
YN:

What are the seating options and prices?
JD:
As this seating chart shows, the Opera House Concert Hall has six seating options, namely Premium and A Reserve through E Reserve.
YN:
Can you please tell us the ticket prices for Premium, A Reserve and B Reserve?
JD:
Certainly, for evening performances of the Mozart work, Premium is A$157 per person, A Reserve is A$137 and B Reserve is A$97.
For the matinee performance on 6 June, ticket prices are A$142, A$127 and A$77 respectively.
Prices for the 11 June Mahler performance are a standard $85.
YN:
Can we have two tickets for both the Mozart concert on 7 June and the Mahler performance on 11 June?
We’d like Reserve A tickets for the former, please.
JD:
Certainly.
