Masa
Dialogue – Providing directions to a visitor from overseas
Local Person (LP):
Hello.
Can I help you?
Overseas Visitor (OV):
Thank you.
I’m trying to find the nearest subway station.
LP:
The nearest is Onarimon Station on the Mita Line.
It’s about 800 meters from here.
OV:
That sounds good.
How do I get there, please?
LP:
Walk down this street and turn left past the Seven-Eleven on the corner.
Then turn right at the second traffic light and walk past the post office.
There is a subway entrance on the corner of the next intersection.
OV:
Thank you.
That sounds very clear and helpful.
LP:
By the way, where are you from?
OV:
I’m from Vancouver in Canada.
LP:
I really want to go to Canada one day.
Please enjoy your visit to Japan.
OV:
Thank you.
Good-bye.
