皆さんは大人と子供の最も大きな違いは何だと思いますか。大変お恥ずかしい限りですが、私にはその答えを挙げることが出来ません。最近ニュースなどで取りざたされる大人になれない大人に関する問題があります。私は社会に著しい障害をきたさない限りこれは大きな問題ではないと考えています。家族を持たない選択肢、仕事を持たない選択肢など私たちの選ぶことのできる未来はこれまでの固定観念を大きく飛び出しており、どれを選べば一番幸せになれるかは誰も教えてくれないからです。むしろ私が危機感を抱くのは、大人になれた子供という問題だと思う。昨今の大ソーシャルメディア時代において子供たちがアクセスできる情報は私の子供時代はおろか、デジタルに精通していない大人世代のそれをはるかに凌ぐ。その渦の中で自分の才能をいち早く開花させた者は、一躍インターネット社会の大物になることが出来るのである。ただし、これは同時に人間の心理である「出る杭は打ちます」心理の標的となることも意味している。こうして幼い才能の塊は線香花火の如く短い燃焼時間をもって闇に飲まれてしまうのではないだろうか。コンテンツ消費のサイクルが異常に短くなったこの世界で子供たちの夢や目標に向けるエネルギーがその温度を保ち続けてくれる事を願うばかりだ。

Adults or Children

What do you think is the biggest difference between adults and

children? I'm embarrassed to admit that I can't come up with an 

answer. There's been a lot of talk in the news lately about the problem of adults who can't seem to act like adults. I don't see this as a major 

issue unless it causes significant disruption to society. Our future, with 

options like choosing not to have a family or not to work, is breaking 

free from traditional norms, and nobody can tell us which choice will 

make us the happiest. Instead, what concerns me more is the issue of children forced to grow up too quickly. In today's booming age of social media, the information available to children far surpasses what was 

available during my childhood or even to adults who aren't digitally 

savvy. Those who can quickly develop their talents may become major 

figures in Internet society overnight. However, this also means they 

become targets of the "hammer down the nail that sticks out" mentality the society has. Thus, these young bundles of talent might burn out 

quickly, much like a shooting star fading into the night sky. In this world where the cycle of content consumption is unhealthily short, I can only hope that the energy children direct toward their dreams and goals can maintain its intensity.
