Relatively, I can do that soon. I like communicating with people. So, I try to talk to someone new from me. Besides, I am used to a situation where I see unfamiliar people. Therefore, I have more chances to be close to someone than others.
Of course, they are essential for me. They often give me some advice to proceed with my life for the better. I also try to help my friends as much as possible when they are in trouble.
4. Can you live in a place where you don’t have friends?
Certainly. I don’t hesitate to talk to strangers. I believe that if I communicate with someone sincerely, the person will reply to it. We can become friends with each other if we open our minds. Therefore, I’m not afraid to stay in an unfamiliar place.
5. “Birds with the same feather flocks together.” How will you relate this proverb to “friendship”?
I agree with the proverb. We tend to be together with people who have the same thought, ambitions, or goals. It happens naturally because we can share our feelings with those people. Then, it gives us reassurance and motivation. If we are together with people who have the opposite opinion, we will feel uncomfortable and stressed.
Part2
Describe the first time you met one of your close friends.
I met him in a share house in Tokyo where I used to live. He is from Uganda and his father lives in Tokyo. I got close to him when I gave a hand to him for his job application. He has been able to speak English well since a long time ago, but I couldn't speak it fluently at that time. However, we could communicate with each other with body language or our expressions. We often share time in the share house. After I left it, he texted me as often as I lived there. The most impressive event was when I joined an English camp in Kyoto, Japan. It was worthwhile, but I was exhausted. Then, he kindly called me to cheer me up. I was impressed by that and energized thanks to him. Besides, he offered to come there to see me. Then, he took part in the English camp with me. We also went sightseeing in Kyoto. It was quite fun, and I got delighted to have a wonderful time with him. Nowadays, we exchange messages at least once a week. He lives in the South part of Japan now. I plan to visit him as soon as possible after the situation of the pandemic is getting better.
Part3
1. Do you think it is possible to have a best friend of the opposite sex without becoming a girlfriend or boyfriend?
Definitely. I don’t care about sex regarding making a friend. I always consider someone a friend depending on the personality, not sex. Besides, we can exchange our opinions with various perspectives. For example, I think women should consult a male friend about the conflict with their boyfriend. It is because guys are prone to be able to understand his thinking. Therefore, they will give us more effective advice than female friends. It is an advantage to having a male friend.
2. Do you think it would be possible for you to still be friends with an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend?
Yes, but it depends on the situation. I have a few ex-boyfriends who are my friends still now. Speaking of one of them, we have some mutual friends. So, we have a chance to meet with each other still now.
3. There is a proverb that says, "A friend in need is a friend indeed." Do you agree?
Undoubtfully, I agree with that. When I ask my friends for help, they always lend me a hand. I also help them whenever they are worried about something. In contrast, fair-weather friends never care about us when we are in trouble. Instead of that, they try to get along with us when we are in a good situation, such as when we win a lottery.
