I gotta (got to) ask. This red carpet thing. 

Did you expect it? Does it make sense to you that there's 

a red carpet event before an all-star baseball game?

質問がありあります。このレッドカーペットについてですが、

こんな事予測してましたか？オールスター戦の前にこのような

レッドカーペットイベントあるのは理解できますか？

オールスターの前にこうやってレッドカーペットやる

というのは翔平の常識の中にありましたか？今までに

経験は無いので、去年はだいぶ緊張してましたけど

今年は多少楽しめてるかなと思います。

There’s something he's never expected, but after doing it 

last year he was really nervous last year, but now he's a little used to it.

Did you like it last year?

(Shohei nods.)

He liked it last year. I see the green. 

A little off green to pop your eyes. Why you got the green?

気に入っている色ですけど。。目に優しいんで大事な打席で打てるように

Oh, really. スーツの色ね

He’s saying green's like a really like nice color nature color and 

hopefully it helps him to get a base hit something (in) all-star game. 

Oh, okay. There you go. Okay okay. It's good. 

So do you like the fact you're leading off the game?

Do you get a little nervous when you have the first step out 

or would you rather do that?

トップバッターは緊張しますか？もっと後の方がいいですか？

緊張はしないですかね。

初球から思いきり振りたいなとは思ってます。

Well, not nervous at all. 

He wants. he loves hitting first and he's gonna give

it his full swing first pitch.

At first pitch. First pitch, I like that. I caught that. 

So I’m wondering. .

Are you paying attention to what other guys 

on the red carpet are wearing?

And more specifically, have you seen Jazz Chisholm of the Marlins?

Did you see what Jazz Chisholm's wearing today?

他の選手の服装とかも見ましたか？

特にジャズ選手の見ました？

部屋でテレビで見てました。

オシャレだなと思ってます。

Yeah, he actually saw it on tv right before he came out and 

it's very stylish.

All right so my question is: Shohei, 

could you see yourself next year wearing this outfit? No shirt.

一年後、この服装を着る可能性はありますか？

まぁ、選ばれたら考えます。

I guess (if he’s) chosen all-star game again,

he’ll give a thought.

Oh yes! I love it.

Something I look forward to. I like that.

So when did you like clothes you like fashion 

you pick out your own stuff?

ファッションとか服は好きな方ですか？

あんまりないですかね。普段ジャージばっかり着ているので、

あんまりスーツ着る機会はないかなと思います。

Usually he all he wears is like sweatsuits and like sweatpants and jeans. So he doesn't really get to dress like this normally.

Is this the first interview you ever did 

where you were never asked about baseball?

野球以外の事聞かれたインタビューは初めてですか？

あんま服装の事は聞かれないですかね。普段は

Yeah, it's really rare to get asked about fashion.

Hey, so let me ask you a baseball question.

The next great Japanese player coming over 

We've been talking about the young pitcher 

that's striking everybody out over there.

I know you're following him. Have you met him?

Can you tell us about him and what are your thoughts?

今完全試合で話題になっている佐々木朗希選手、次季のメジャーに日本から来るスーパースターと言われていますけど、

交流とかはあるんですか？映像とか見たりは？

会った事はないですかね。たぶん出身地は同じなので

いろいろ話には聞いたりしますけど、まだ挨拶はした事ないですかね。

Yeah never actually got to meet the guy yet, but we're from the same 

area of Japan so we've got something in common 

and hopefully I can meet him one day.

You were watching pitch, though?

What do you think of his stuff?

映像とかは見ました？

見ました。まっすぐはやっぱ速いので、変化球も良いですけど

まっすぐが速いってのが、やっぱり強みかなと

Yeah. (He’s) seen privileges. He throws heat like gas gas and that

 always works out well and he has a good breaking ball too so.

You'll be seeing a good breaking ball to start the all-star game tonight 

from Clayton Kershaw. 

今夜のオールスター戦で、クレイトン・カーショーの凄い変化球を

目の当たりにすることでしょう。

No, he won’t. He's hitting the first pitch.

Oh, that's right I forgot! Boom!

いや、そんなことはないよ。翔平は初球打つんだから！
