バネとも春とも関係がないこの単語は「子・子孫」という意味です。

ライティングでは children や babies の代わりに、次のように使えるかなと思います。

The recent study shows that parents can pass many diseases on to their offspring.

（最近の研究で、親が多くの病気を子どもに遺伝させる事がわかった。）

Through careful observation and scientific study, researchers can unravel the mysteries of how different species nurture and educate their offspring.

（注意深い観察と科学的な研究を通じて、研究者は異なる種がどのように子孫を育て、教育するかの謎を解明することができる。）
