スペル自体は見たことあるけど、意味ははっきり覚えていない方が意外に多いのではないでしょうか？

notionは「概念・考え・意見」という意味で、ideaに近い意味を持っています。

If people have more notions of public service, Japan will be a better country to live.

（もし人々がもっと社会奉仕という概念を持てば、日本は住みやすい国になるだろう。）

The notion of studying overseas should be more prevailed because the connection with foreign friends will be important in the future.

（留学という考えはもっと普及されるべきである。なぜなら海外の友人とのつながりが今後重要になるからだ。）
