【2級ライティング便利表現64】irritate

スペルは少し難しいですが、irritateは「いらだたせる・刺激する」という意味の動詞です。

次のように annoy や bother、make ~ angry などの代わりに使えます。

In the workplace, a lack of clear communication can irritate employees, leading to misunderstandings and decreased productivity.

（職場での明確なコミュニケーション不足は、従業員を苛立たせ、誤解と生産性の低下をもたらすことがある。）

Social media platforms have the potential to both connect and irritate users, as they can be sources of both support and conflicts.

（SNSはユーザーに繋がりと苛立ちの両方をもたらす可能性がある。なぜなら支援と争いという2つの源泉になりうるからである。）

名詞の irritation には「炎症」という意味もあるので、合わせて覚えておきたいですね。
