英検準1級ライティング問題、2016年度第1回のTOPICは以下のようなものでした。

教育が終わった後に親と暮らす若者が増えるか。という問題ですね。
こういうTOPICに今回の「過保護」はもってこいの単語だと思います。
その英語とはずばり、 overprotection「過保護」とoverprotective「過保護な」です。
そのまんまですね。でもだからこそ覚えやすい。
以下のように使うことができます。
Since overprotection hinders mental growth in young people, parents should not allow their kids to live with them.
（過保護は若者の精神的な成長を妨げるので、一緒に住むことを許可すべきではない。）
The number of overprotective parents has been increasing, therefore more and more young people will stay with their parents in the future.
（過保護な親の数が増えてきているので、より多くの若者が親と一緒に暮らすだろう。）
状況に合わせて名詞と形容詞を使い分けてくださいね。
