Yuki: Good morning, Leo.

Leo: Good morning, Yuki. You came by bicycle today?

Yuki: Yes, I did. It’s sunny, so I enjoyed the ride.

Yuki: Oh, really? Is it easy to take a bus in the UK?

Leo: I think, in the UK, taking a bus is very easy. For example, people

Yuki: Wow! That means there is no need to carry cash. Also, they can 

　get on quickly. I’m sure that is a useful system. I wish we had the 

　same system in this town. If I used that system, I could take the

　bus more often.

Leo: Also, in the UK, many buses come every ten minutes, even in 

　small towns. People don’t have to wait long. The number of buses is 

　increasing.

Yuki: I see. People can go anywhere easily by bus in the UK.

Mr. Ida: Good morning, Yuki and Leo. What are you talking about?

Leo: Good morning, Mr. Ida. We are talking about buses in the UK. I 

　told Yuki that buses are easy to use there.

Mr. Ida: Oh, I’ve heard that buses in the UK are very convenient.

Yuki: Yes, and Leo says people can pay with a card or phone. That’s 

　very different from our system.

Mr. Ida: That’s true. In Japan, many buses still use cash or special 

　cards.

Leo: Right. But in the UK, even students use their phones to pay.

Yuki: That’s so smart. I think it helps people use buses more often.

Mr. Ida: I agree. By the way, Leo, do buses in the UK have special 

　seats for older people or people with disabilities?

Leo: Yes, they do. And the drivers wait until those people sit down 

　before moving.

Yuki: That’s kind. I think it’s important to make public transportation
