Google Japan Blog の中に、「Google マップの 15 年を振り返ってみましょう」という 記事を見つけました。
２０２０年の記事ですので、Googleマップは、できてから現在２０年経つということなんですね。

.......ふむふむ、現在ではおなじみの Googleマップの 機能も けっこう歴史があるんですねぇ～🤨

”Google マイビジネス” は、今の【 Google ビジネスプロフィール 】ですね😃
今から1０年以上前にできたのですね～
この記事を読んでいるうちに、ふと思い出したことがありました。
あれは ２０２１年のこと...... 知床の民宿に一泊したことがあったのですが、その民宿は、二食付きでとてもリーズナブル。
しかも、民宿を経営しているおかみさんの 息子さんが 漁師さんであるため、夕食も 朝食も 超新鮮な海の幸がいっぱいで 食卓には食べきれないほどの量のお料理が並びました。
これまでに そこに宿泊したお客様で男性でも お食事を 全部食べ切った人はいないとのこと、私もあまりの量の多さに 泣く泣く残してしまいました😢
とても美味しくて、民宿のおかみさんに「口コミに書きますね！」と言ったところ、「ウチは、どこにも載せていない。どこにも載せていないけど、予約の電話が かかってくる」とおっしゃるのです。
どこにも 載せてない けど、電話がかかって来る？？！！
えっ？！じゃあ、私が見た料理の写真や 評判のいい口コミは 一体なんだったんだろう？？
確かに、自分も 電話を かけて予約したんですよね......
不思議に思って、じゃらんなどのＯＴAを確認しましたが どこにも見当たらず、結局 Googleマップを見て、そこの民宿を 知ったことが 判明！！
民宿は、おかみさんが おひとりでお料理を作っているようでしたが、足が悪くて２階に上がれないから お嫁さんにお掃除を任せていると おっしゃっていたので、Google の登録も きっとご家族の 誰かが されていたのでしょう。
今から思えば、それがGoogleマップの 口コミを書き始めたきっかけでした😉
I found an article on the Google Japan Blog titled "Looking back on 15 years of Google Maps."
Since the article was published in 2020, it means that Google Maps has now been around for 20 years.
"Street View launched on May 29, 2007."

...Hmm, so even the now-familiar Google Maps features have quite a history! 🤨

"Google My Business" is now known as Google Business Profile. 😃
So it's been over 10 years since it was created!
While reading this article, something suddenly occurred to me.
That was in 2021... I stayed overnight at a guesthouse in Shiretoko, which was very reasonably priced and included two meals.
Plus, the owner's son is a fisherman, so dinner and breakfast were packed with super-fresh seafood, and the table was overflowing with food.
Apparently, no male guest has ever finished their entire meal, and even I ended up leaving some behind, crying because the portions were so large. 😢
It was so delicious that I told the hostess, "I'll write a review!" She replied, "We don't list our restaurant anywhere. We don't list our restaurant anywhere, but we still get phone calls from people making reservations."

What?! So what on earth were all those photos of the food and glowing reviews I'd seen all about?!
I'm sure I made the reservation over the phone too...
I was curious, so I checked online sites like Jalan, but couldn't find it anywhere. In the end, I found out about the guesthouse through Google Maps!!
The hostess seemed to cook by herself, but she said she couldn't walk upstairs and so left the cleaning to her daughter-in-law, so I'm sure someone in her family had registered the guesthouse on Google.
Looking back, that was what prompted me to start writing reviews on Google Maps 😉
