For me, friendship was something to be forged, like a Japanese sword.
Back in my teenage years, friendships always felt a little awkward, a little unstable.
Even small things could lead to serious arguments, and instead of being honest, I often remember trying hard not to be disliked.
We looked like close friends, but deep down, we were always trying to figure each other out.

A friend I met in high school changed my negative view of “friendship.”
It wasn’t a fateful encounter or anything—it just felt natural, like one day I realized I could trust her.
It was the first time I thought, “Maybe this is what friendship really is.”
Thanks to her, I think my fear of connecting with others began to fade. In college too, I was lucky to meet wonderful friends.

I’ve come to believe that true friendship doesn’t need dramatic events.
It’s simply there—steady, gentle, and fulfilling.
There’s a kind of peace in just being together, without needing to approve or disapprove of each other.
With these people, I feel like I can show the softest, kindest version of myself.

I’ve learned how deeply the experience of being accepted can strengthen a person.
I want to become someone who can receive others, just like they received me.
Maybe friendship isn't about form—it's about the time you spend with someone that helps you like yourself.

 Yesterday, I saw them again.
Everything had changed, and yet they were exactly the same—friends I’ll always admire.
Seeing them made me want to live in a way I wouldn’t be ashamed to show them.
It gave me the strength to keep going.
