やや長い分ですが少しずつ意味を捉えてみましょう。まず語句です。
Breaking News→breakとは「壊れる」という意味ですが、ニュースが壊れるでは意味不明です。breakは、実は「連続している状態を断つ」というニュアンスがあり、今紹介しているnewsを一旦中止して別のニュースを紹介する、即ち「速報」という意味になります。
Artificial Intelligence→AI、人工知能です。artificialは「人工の」という形容詞、Intelligenceは「知能」なので、そのままの意味です。
lab→laboratory、「研究室」の略です。
predict→「予測する」という意味です。
hundreds of thousands→thousandsは「1,000」、hundredsは「100」です。「１０００」の「１００」とは、掛け合わせて「数十万もの」という意味になります。ちなみに、「数百万もの」であればmillions of～です。
accelerate→「加速させる」という意味です。
Breaking News: はまず置いておいて、この文の主語はAn artificial intelligence lab called DeepMindですね。「ディープマインドと呼ばれる人工知能研究所」です。動詞は predicted 「予想した」。何を予想したのかというと、the shapes of hundreds of thousands of proteins 「数十万ものタンパク質の構造」をin hours「数時間で」となります。"ー"はここにa task that takes scientists years. 「研究者でさえも数年掛かる」という意味を付加するので、すべてまとめると「ディープマインドと呼ばれる人工知能研究所は、研究者でさえも数年掛かる作業である、数十万ものタンパク質の構造を数時間で予想した。」
