Akan Bus will start a virtual tour using the video conferencing application "Zoom" for the first time in Kushiro City on August 24.
The company has been running a regular sightseeing bus for a limited period of time, but this year the number of passengers dropped dramatically due to the corona disaster.
From May to July, the number was only around 10% of last year's figure.
However, since the start of the "Go To Travel" program, the number of visitors has been increasing, and a virtual tour was designed to avoid the dense atmosphere of the tour buses, which are usually not in operation at this time of year.
The tour takes about 90 minutes.
Customers and the bus guide are always connected online and can ask questions on the spot for two-way communication.
