ユニバの待ち時間で使える話 / ハイクオリティーおばあちゃん

I am sometimes asked for directions from people.

(俺、道を聞かれる事が多々あるねん。)

After I give or show them the direction, they often tip me candy or 100 yen. Not always though.

(そんで教えたらそのお礼として飴ちゃんもらったり、100円玉もらったりよくするねん。)

One day, I was heading to work and suddenly an old woman stopped and asked me how to get to the Namiwa police station.

(ほんである日、ちゃりんこで仕事に向かう途中におばあちゃんに止められて、浪速警察署の場所を聞かれてん。)

The police station was very close to where we were, and I still had enough time. So I offered to go along to show her the way.

(警察署はめっちゃ近かったから、おばあちゃんに、"近いし時間あるから一緒に行くで"って言ってん。)

Then, she refused that offer stubbornly, but we eventually started walking together to the police station.

(ほんじゃめっちゃ断ってきてんけど、なんだかんだで一緒に歩いて行ってん。)

And we got the police station, so I was gonna say bye to her. But she stopped me again and said "Just a minute, boy".

(ほんで警察署の前着いて、ばいばいしよーと思ったらおばあちゃんが、"あんたちょっと待ちい"って言ってきてん。)

Soon I realized that she was gonna give me a treat or money. So I said "I don't need any money, thank you anyway".

(ほんでまた飴ちゃんとか100円玉とかやろなーと思って、別にそんなんいらんから、"いや、おばあちゃん俺何もいらんで。仕事やから行くわ"って言うてん。)

But she wouldn't let me go at all, so I decided to wait for her.

(ほんならめっちゃ必死で引き止めてくるから、しゃーなし待つ事にしてん。)

Then, she started looking for an item in her bag.

(ほんならおばあちゃんがカバンゴソゴソし始めてん。)

She finally pulled something out and said "Drink whatever you want, boy".

(ほんで、おばあちゃんが、"ほんならあんたこれで何か飲み"って言ってカバンからだしてきたもんが、)

As soon as I looked at it, I realized that it was a straw.

(ストローやってん。)

【ワンポイントアドバイス】

① オチを言う前に、"よく道聞かれた後に100円玉貰ったりするねんなー"と、100円玉を聞き手に連想させるように誘導しておきましょう。

② Head(ヘッド)という単語はよく使います。

頭以外にも、"〜に向かう"と言う意味があります。

Where are you heading?

(どこに向かってるの？)

I'm gonna head home.

(家に帰るとこです。)

③ 〜に近い。と言いたい時はClose toを使います。

Near(ニア)を使うならToは必要ありません。

My house is close to Umeda.

(私の家は梅田から近いです。)

My house is near Umeda.

(私の家は梅田から近いです。)

④ Eventually(イベンチァリー)という単語もよく使います。

後々は、最終的には、なんだかんだ、ゆくゆく、みたいなニュアンスです。

日本人はFinally(ファイナリー)を多用してしまう癖がありますが、ファイナリーは遂に、なんとかやっと、ほんまのほんまに最終的に、みたいなニュアンスです。

気をつけましょう。

(凄まじい喧嘩の末、私たちは友達になった。)

I finally graduated from high school.

(やっと高校を卒業しました。)
