ユニバの待ち時間に使えるお話

居酒屋で飲んでたら外国人と仲良くなってそのまま一緒に飲む事に。なんて話はよくあると思います。そんな時に英語で何か１つ小ネタを持ってれば安心です。これは欧米出身(特にヨーロッパ)の人ならだいたい引っかかるのでまた一緒に飲む機会があれば試してみて下さい。

Hey, I can read your mind.

(私、あなたのマインド読めますよ。)

Choose a number between 1 and 10.

(１から10の間で数字を選んで下さい。)

Multiply that number by two.

(その数字に２を掛けて下さい。)

Add eight to your new number.

(その新しくなった数字に８を足して下さい。)

Divide that number by two.

(その数字を２で割って下さい。)

Subtract your original number from the new number that you have now.

(そこから最初に選んだ数字を引いて下さい。)

You should have a number between 1 and 26.

(今あなたは１から26の間の数字を持っていますね？)

Take that number and match it with alphabets.(その数字とアルファベットをマッチさせて下さい。)

If your number is 1, your alphabet is A. If your number is 2, your alphabet is B and so on.

Now, take that letter and think of any country in the world that begins with that letter.

Take the letter that comes next in the alphabet. If you had the letter B, you would now use the letter C.

(そのアルファベットの次のアルファベットを思い浮かべて下さい。あなたのアルファベットがＢでしたなら、今回はＣです。)

And think of an animal that begins with that letter.

(そしてそのアルファベットから始まる動物の名前を考えて下さい。)

Now think about what color that animal is.

(その動物の色も考えて下さい。)

Now think about that country, animal, and its color while I’m receiving your mental thought via the internet.

(では国と、動物の名前と、動物の色を思い浮かべて下さい。私がインターネット経由であなたのマインドを受信している間にね。)

① 計算してもらった後に、"いけた？"とか"できた？"などの確認をしたい場合は、

みたいな感じで聞いていきましょう。

② Betweenという単語は皆さんご存知かと思いますが、使い方には気をつけて下さい。
