2021First Auction Ceremony

The "First Auction Ceremony" was held in 2021 to pray for bumper catches in the new year in Nemuro and the prosperity of the local wholesale market for marine products.  

The participants in the ceremony gave a vigorous "hand-clapping" to start the year's trading. This year's ceremony was held on a smaller scale, with an altar set up in the auction hall of the center, and attended by about 50 people from the market, buyers, and guests.  

Touching on the fact that the first auction was held on a reduced scale in a short period of time, and that last year's landing volume in the city was less than 50,000 tons due to the poor catch of saury, 

he said, "This year is still uncertain, but we will do our best with the collective wisdom of everyone. 

This year's trading of cod, sea urchin, and other products has begun.
